Descriptions of the locations

Pasila Office Center, Opastinsilta 12, Helsinki

Reception by National Land Survey of Finland, map exhibition and presentation of the history of Finland are held in the main building of the National Land Survey of Finland in the Pasila Office Center. Office is located adjacent to the Pasila railway station and the shopping mall Tripla.

House of Science and Letters, Kirkkokatu 6, Helsinki

House of Science and Letters is the main symposium building in the Kruununhaka neighborhood. All the morning presentations are held here.

Visit to the National Library and the Nordenskiöld collection (Anna Vuolanto)

National Library is located very close to the House of Science and Letters in the Kruununhaka neighborhood. Entrance to the library either from Yliopistonkatu 1 or Unioninkatu 36.

Reception by the City of Helsinki, Aleksanterinkatu 20, Helsinki

Reception by the City of Helsinki will be held at the Old Court House. Building is located adjacent to the Senate Square.

Visit to the National archives, war maps (Ville Vuolle & Erkki-Sakari Harju), Rauhankatu 17, Helsinki

National archives are located very close to the main symposium building the House of Science and Letters in the Kruununhaka neighborhood.

Reception by John Nurminen foundation, Pasilankatu 2, Helsinki

Reception will be held at the main building of the John Nurminen foundation in the West Pasila neighborhood. Walking distance from the Pasila railway station and the shopping mall Tripla.

Visit to Helsinki City museum, Aleksanterinkatu 16, Helsinki

Helsinki City museum is located in the Kruununhaka neighborhood. Building can be found adjacent to the historical Senate Square of Helsinki.

Suomenlinna Sea Fortress

The closing dinner will be held at Suomenlinna Sea Fortress. These unique islands are located near the Helsinki city center. There is a 15-minute ferry trip from the Market Square (Kauppatori). Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The sea fortress was built mostly in 18th century.
